State of Emergency: Waterkeeper Fights To Protect Our Water

by Andrew Ciccone August 10, 2017

Water heroes come in many forms, from coalitions, to small and large organizations.

Leadership is critical to a future of clean and ample water in our rivers and watersheds.

The environment is under attack, our waters, rivers and streams are in danger. Trump and his climate change deniers are dismantling our environmental protection policies.  We are in a global crisis, strong leadership is necessary to protect our children and our planet.

Angie Rosser is working hard to protect the waters of Elk River, West Virginia. Angie has dedicated her career to fighting social injustices. Angie is Executive Director of the West Virginia Coalition. As Waterkeeper, she protects the waters of the the Monongahela National Forest.

In 2014, a chemical spill contaminated the Elk River. Angie brought awareness to the media about the hundreds of thousands of people who were without water.

Angie also serves as Co-Chair of the NWF Water Caucus and the Choose Clean Water Coalition.  To create partnerships with leaders from across the region and country.

Gravity Fed Water Dispenser Purifier

A stoneware water dispenser is one of the best gravity fed water filters that are on the market. You will love the taste of the water you drink.

We need more water-heros like Angie to help fight for clean water. All life needs water. Water is our Blue Planet’s world’s most precious resource. Many fail to realize that freshwater is a finite resource. Less than 1% of the world's water is fresh and accessible.

Become a Water Hero! The H2O Leadership Program brings together leaders and community members to protect water.  Let’s get started. Work with local river and watershed organizations to support efforts to defend water.
