Top 10 Benefits of Natural Water

by Dan Agudelo April 20, 2017

Water is the most essential substance needed for life on Earth. Water is found on almost 75% of the world’s surface and in every living organism.  Water is what runs through earth's natural veins and what keeps life thriving and evolving.  The benefits water provide to us are endless and can range from weight loss to injury recovery.

Here we’ll cover the top 10 ways natural water can leave a positive impact on our daily lives.

  • Weight Loss and Improved Digestion - An increase in water intake can promote weight loss as it is the healthiest option when accompanying any meal.  This is more apparent when water is a substituted for sugary and high-calorie drinks like soda.   Drinks such as juice and soda tend to be high in sugar and calories which can quickly lead to a high daily caloric intake if not careful.  Water contains no calories because the body does not need to break it down any further than it already.  Substituting water over high calorie drinks keeps your daily calorie intake down which in turn leads to long term weight loss. Also, drinking water before a meal tends to make us eat less since our bodies feel full quicker. Along with weight loss, water is needed for almost all body processes. Water helps dissolve fats and soluble fiber, making digestion easier.  It helps flush waste products and keep the colon hydrated.  If the colon takes water away from the stool your chances of constipation are much higher.
  • Powers Workouts And Helps Athletes Fight Fatigue - Working out is exhausting and the sweat you release needs to be replenished.  Water is your best resource when working out and staying hydrated.  Knowing how much you sweat will help you know how much you should be hydrating yourself.  Water also fuels long workouts by preventing fatigue and exhaustion after your workouts.  This is extremely important for athletes that may train two or even three times a day. Don’t let yourself get dehydrated. Headaches are usually a result of long periods without water consumption. Drinking about 2 cups of water can end up eliminating your headaches within as little as half an hour. Water is also very important when preventing Bladder Cancer.  The more water you drink, the lower your chances of developing the cancer. More frequent urination helps prevent buildup on carcinogens in the bladder.  More water, more urination.
  • Keep Body Clean And Healthy - Your body regularly needs to be “flushed” as water is the perfect cleanser for the body.  Water ends up cleaning kidneys, protects joints and cartilage and serves many other functions that keep your body running smoothly.  Kidneys are a very important part of our bodies so keeping them clean through water consumption can keep them and you healthy.
  • Keeps Us Alert, Energizes Us - One of the first signs of dehydration is feeling tired.  So if you need a lift, water will help energize you.  If you need to concentrate for long periods of time, having water ready for you will help keep you energized and focused. Dehydration can bring a lot of negative side effects including memory and motor skill impairment . Dehydration also causes the brain to work harder to perform at the same level when hydrated. One study found that students that brought water to tests performed better than those that did not.
    • Cleans Your Home Without Toxins - Water is the basic ingredient in all natural cleaning products.  Whether it's washing dishes or washing clothes, water-based cleaning products will always be the cleaner option.  Water-based natural cleaning products are also free from toxicity which is much better for your health and the environment.
    • Soothes The Mind - From sight to sound to the way it feels, exposure to water and its effect on our senses can result in relaxation and less stress.  The calm nature of water is therapeutic when compared to the harsh sounds of highway, subway and other loud sounds.  Let your mind and body interact with water, the most primitive source of life.
    • Frozen Water Speeds Injury Recovery - Ice is a one of the best injury recovery techniques as it helps reduce inflammation from sprains and strains.  Ice packs reduce blood flow and swelling in injured areas and reduce pain.
    • Helps You Sleep Better, Drinking Or Bath Before Bed - A warm bath has many benefits and can do a lot to decrease stress. Adults with sleeping problems tend to sleep better when they take a warm shower or bath before bed.  The warm water helps regulate your breathing and heart rate so your sleep is as relaxing as the bath you just got out of.
    • Good For The Heart - Water will always be the best choice for your diet. When considering diet, there may be a link between risk of death from coronary heart disease and water intake.  Risk of death from coronary decreases when water intake is increased.  Comparably, risk of death from coronary increases when soda and juice intake is increased.  Always replace sugary drinks with water whenever possible.
