The Importance of Our Water: Saying NO to the Constitution Pipeline

by Andrew Ciccone September 29, 2016

Saying NO to the Pipeline is the smart solution New York needs for a greener, cleaner environment.

Unless it is STOPPED - The Constitution Pipeline Project is to run underground bringing fracked gas from Susquehanna County, in Pennsylvania, and make its way through New York State, stretching 124 miles, and ending in Schoharie County, New York.

Fortunately, this project was denied the 401 Water Quality Certification by New York Department of Environmental Conservation. The pipeline project did not meet New York State’s clean water standards, and can cause damage from a pipe leak or spill, polluting our precious water supply.

IMPORTANT NOTE . . . The Constitution Pipeline would cross over 277 bodies of water!

The Water We Drink is at Risk

With the potential of a Pipeline spill, the water we drink and use every day could be contaminated, affecting the quality and quantity of water supply in general.

It’s Our Planet, Let’s Protect It

What’s at risk? Over 277 bodies of water are exposed,  10.7 miles of wetlands, 36 miles of forest, 555 acres of farmland, and 35 miles of steep slopes would be affected by a pipeline burst. Can we really afford to put our water supply at risk?

The U.S. is no longer dependent on foreign oil, we are advancing plentiful wind and solar energy, we don’t need anymore pipelines. The risk is simply not worth the return.
