Welcome to 2015. Say it with a tall drink of filtered water.
We all want to make and keep resolutions to bring more happiness and fulfillment to our lives. Remember, drinking healthy water is at the epicenter of your inner joy and well being.
Water is an essential part of maintaining a healthy body. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, roughly 60 percent of an adult’s body is water. Some organs, like the skin, brain and muscles, are made up of more water than other elements. For example, the skin contains 64 percent water and the muscles contain 79 percent water, says the U.S. Geological Survey. Since water is an essential part of human health and well-being, it is important to make resolutions about drinking, showering and even relaxing with water.
Drinking More Water
A large percentage of the human body is water, which means that drinking enough water is an essential part of a healthy diet plan. If an individual is not drinking enough water, then he or she may become dehydrated.
According to the Web MD, fluid loss from the body is continuous. Humans lose water when they breathe, through evaporation of sweat from the skin and during the elimination of waste, explains the Web MD. When an individual does not replace the water that is lost through normal activities, he or she may become dehydrated.
The Health Benefits Of Proper Hydration Include:
Web MD explains that water is often used in dieting to help reduce caloric intake by replacing a high-calorie drink with water. By properly hydrating the body, it also allows the kidneys to work effectively and remove toxins so that the body can detox.
Setting a resolution to drink more water can be an important part of maintaining good health and wellness; however, it is also important to recognize the potential contaminates in water that must be removed with a filter. The Environmental Working Group recommends that every American use a water filter for drinking water because tap water may have contaminates that are not regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Select a filter that removes the toxins that are found in a particular area. Generally, a carbon filter is appropriate for most contaminates; however, the Environmental Working Group recommends that individuals who live in areas that have fluoride in the tap water use a reverse osmosis filter that is combined with a carbon filter for better water quality.
A healthy body starts with the proper nutrition and hydration. When the body is not hydrated, it can lead to health concerns and it may cause more complications. Fortunately, it is easy to improve hydration by drinking more water each day.
Let proper hydration and drinking more water every day be your first New Year's Water Resolution for 2015.
